Fire and Ice Festival

Back in 2013 a few “crazy individuals” had the idea to fill the main street in downtown Bracebridge with enough snow that they could go tubing through the streets! That is not the amazing part, what is amazing is that they made it happen then, and it has happened every year since. Well, at least the “Fire and Ice Festival” as it is now called has happened every year. The tubing is unfortunately at the mercy of mother nature, but if she co-operates it is!

Now the festival involves so much more than just tubing through the downtown street. You will find several fun activities such as a skating rink, life size games like Tic Tac Dunk or Giant Pong, axe throwing, and the obviously mandatory campfire to warm up by. You can cook popcorn over a fire, decorate cupcakes, roast marshmallows, eat hot dogs or visit the Biergarten. If that is not your style and you want to find something more active, you can try your hand at curling, mini putt, or join in the interactive drum circle. If you are just there to take in the sights, then you are going to want to see the ice sculptures, the lumberjack show, the Buskers on Taylor Road, and make sure you see the Fireworks as well. That is not everything that is going on either. I have just scratched the surface. You can see all the activities on their website fireandicebracebridge.com

In 2024 the Fire and Ice Festival will be held on January 27. ONE DAY? How long do you expect them to shut down main street downtown?
