South River Brewing Co.

There is just something about drinking a cold beer on a hot day while on vacation. It is one of the best ways to relax. Thankfully there is the South River Brewing Company just a short drive from the Kearney Cabin. They give tours of their facilities and offer a retail store where you can purchase beer to bring back with you. Not sure which beer you would like? No problem, they offer tastings at the store. Some of our favorites where the Buckshot Lager and Honey I’m Home but there are so many to try we are sure you will find your favorites as well.

They describe themselves as one of the original Northern Ontario breweries that brew meticulously hand-made small batch craft beer utilizing locally foraged ingredients whenever possible. I describe them as a damn good beer maker. On top of that, they pride themselves as a local business that supports other local businesses, groups, and events. In their retail store you will find local artisanal arts and crafts for sale. The store has become a “repository of information about tourism and events in the community”. They even go so far as to make their facilities available to anyone in the region for private events.
