Restaurants
There are a few local restaurants that offer quality food and beverage. If you are a foodie or looking for more options, there are several to choose from in the nearby cities. Below are my favorites but by no means is this list all of the restaurants that are available. Starting with the closest to Kearney Cabin that I personally have tried and enjoyed and can recommend…
Kearney Restaurants
Fork On Main
This restaurant offers your typical “pub fare” from burgers to wraps and a few entrees as well. I have never been disappointed by the food from here. They offer specials on nights such as “Wine down Wednesdays”, Thursday “Darts Night”, and frequently there are live bands and musicians on the weekends as well. For more information check out their facebook page: www.facebook.com/ForkOnMain/
Wendy’s Kitchen
Wendy’s Kitchen is located inside the Legion on 58 Park Road, right around the corner from Kearney Cabin. Keep in mind it is a legion so it feels like a cafeteria. You go here for the FOOD. I want to say that they have great breakfasts, but it is not JUST their breakfast. They have great lunch and dinner items too! Check them out at: https://www.facebook.com/61570840465155
Trailside Cookhouse
This is almost like a food truck, but much bigger. Only open during the summer months and located right on the corner of Main and Hwy 518. You walk up to the window to place your order. It is the equivalent of fast food in Kearney and the meals are delicious. Known for their burgers and fries, but they offer much more too. When you come to Kearney, you have to try the Trailside Cookhouse. Visit them on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/KearneyTrailsideCookhouse/
Emsdale Restaurants
Yetti’s Pizza
You want a pizza that will deliver? You gotta call here. If you want to pick up a pizza, it is a 10 minute drive. If you are looking for a pizza from a pizza shop, this is the closest and most convenient. I have had the pizza and it was good. I’d order from here again, or stop in as I am driving by. bigdoepizza.com
Katrine Restaurants
Big Doe Pizza
Big Doe is in Katrine, which is a 15 minute drive. In all disclosure and transparency I have not had the opportunity to try pizza from this restaurant yet. What I can tell you is the PRAISE this place was getting on the local Facebook groups. Next time I order pizza it will be from here and I know what I will be ordering already. One large sausage pizza with a pound of hot wings. You can decide what you want on their website: bigdoepizza.com
Huntsville Restaurants
That Little Place By The Lights
This restaurant was featured on the TV show “You Gotta Eat Here” so we had to try it out. If you love Pizza and Pasta then this is the place for you. Everything tasted very authentic and the quality of the food was amazing. They offer several options to bring home as well. You can check it all out on their website here: www.thatlittleplacebythelights.ca/
Huntsville Brewhouse
This place tends to appeal to a slightly older crowd and not so much a family restaurant, but the fact that it is a brewhouse might have given you that hint. Food is great and the whole family can enjoy, but if you want to dine in with your kids, lunchtime may be a better time to do so. If you are without kids and enjoy beer, then this is a definitely a stop you do not want to miss. They even offer “take home beer” in case you find one you love. I enjoyed the “Brewhouse Burger with a couple of ringers” but was told the nachos are a generous portion and a favorite among the locals. Learn more about them on their website here: huntsvillebrewhouse.ca/
On The Docks
Definitely more of a younger crowd, this restaurant offers exactly what you would expect. Sandwich’s, burgers, tacos, wings, and other apps. Food is very tasty and the atmosphere is energetic. If you are looking for a waterfront Huntsville experience, your want to check this place out. For more information, visit their website at: onthedockspub.com
